This page will serve as a basic how to play guide for Stormbound: Kingdom Wars. While there is very little information available at this time, we urge you to check back often, as new information is being added all the time! Feel free to edit this guide with any tips, tricks, and suggestions.

Basic gameplay[ | ]

Stormbound: Kingdom Wars involves collecting cards and using them in strategy-based duels against a single opponent.

Battling[ | ]

The Board[ | ]

The board, or field, is divided up into tiles, 4-wide by 5-high. At the bottom of the grid is your base, and at the top is your opponent's. The objective is to reduce your opponent's base health to 0 by reaching it with your own units or utilizing abilities.

Frontline[ | ]

Your frontline is how far you have advanced across the board, and determines how far out you can place units. Your frontline starts 1 row in front of your base, and moves forward with your units so that it is right in front of your farthest unit, but can't get closer than 1 row in front of your opponent's base. If your farthest unit dies on your opponent's turn, your frontline will move back to right in front of your next-furthest unit, or back to 1 row in front of your base if you have no more units. If your furthest unit dies on your turn, it will move back at the end of your turn if you have not played any units to keep it forward.

Your Hand[ | ]

Below your base are the cards currently in your hand. At the end of your turn, if you have less than 4 cards in your hand, you draw until you have 4. You can never have more than 4 cards in your hand. Once per turn, you can discard a card and draw a new one by dragging the card to the left of your hand. Cards that are able to be played are outlined in green.

Playing Cards[ | ]

In order to play a card, you must have enough mana to use it, and a valid tile or target to use it on. Your mana can be seen to the left of your base, and it regenerates and increases by 1 when you end your turn. Cards are played by dragging them onto a valid tile of the board. If it is a unit or structure, it must be played behind your frontline and on an empty tile. If it is a spell, it must be played on a valid target if it needs one.

Deckbuilding[ | ]

Your deck can be customized to your liking, with certain limitations. Each deck must have exactly 12 cards, can only have 1 of each card, and can only have neutral cards and cards from 1 faction. On the main menu, the bottom middle button will show you which deck you currently have equipped, and tapping this will take you into the deck customization menu. At the top of your screen you can see your available cards, and below that is your current deck, both arranged by mana cost by default. Cards can be added or removed from your deck by dragging them down into your deck or up out of it, respectively. Tapping a card will give you detailed information about it and will allow you to upgrade it using duplicates and coins.

Tips and tricks[ | ]

In general, a game of stormbound has a heavy reliance on the frontline. The very basics of the game are to keep your frontline forward, allowing you better control of the board. In general, it is also a good idea to keep your opponent's frontline back, ridding them of the aforementioned advantage. However, this may not always be the case if the opportunity to overwhelm the opponent at the gates arises.

The variety of factions allow for many different playing styles and have unique cards allowing simple tricks to victory.
